Agility Foundation Course – Home Based
- This is a 6 week course looking at all the foundations for super successful potential agility dogs
- No special agility equipment is required as the whole course can be completed with everyday household items such as a dog bowl, dog bed, a small bin or cone and a step
- This course is useful for those just starting out and those who have already started their agility training
- It is a 6 week course delivered via online videos
- It is suitable for dogs of any age, from puppies to older dogs as all activities are low impact
- As there is a lot of content on the course which you may not complete in the 6 weeks you will have access to the course for 6 months so you can study at your own pace

Course Content
Lesson 1
- Value for handler/ recall
- Value for drive arm/ hand touch / handler focus
- Toy play/ tugging – explanation of when to use food versus toys to encourage different behaviours
Lesson 2
- Forward focus drive to object (toy or bowl)
- Proprioceptive awareness exercises – foot target contact foundations
- Boundary work/ wait foundations
Lesson 3
- Teaching wing wraps
- Teaching directional commands left and right
Lesson 4
- Tricks for agility – for co-ordination, flexibility and balance
Lesson 5
- Handler movement -front crosses and blind crosses
- Shadow handling with the dog
Lesson 6
- Putting the bits together!
